CATAPULT TECHNOLOGY SUPPORTS COMBAT VETERANS AT
VA MEDICAL CENTER THIS HOLIDAY SEASON
Vietnam Vet-Founded Firm Giving Back to Veterans
Bethesda, Maryland – December 4, 2007 - The holidays are a tough time for many veterans, including those suffering from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). The Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Washington DC treats 80 such soldiers on an outpatient basis through its Trauma Services treatment program. This year, they are celebrating the holidays with the help of Catapult Technology, Ltd., which is donating $2,500 to underwrite the program’s holiday lunch Friday, December 14 from 10 AM to 12 PM.
“The veterans in the program have given a lot,” said Randy Slager, chairman, CEO, and founder of Catapult Technology. “Since starting the company, it has been a personal imperative for us to support our veterans. That’s why we’re lending our support to the VA Medical Center for this special event.”
Slager is a Vietnam-era Army veteran.
Catapult Technology, Ltd. is the leading Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned (SDVO) Information Technology (IT) contractor to the Federal government. In addition to sponsoring a holiday lunch, Catapult Technology is also donating books of gift certificates that the veterans can use at the Medical Center’s retail store to purchase winter clothing and accessories, and personal items like toothbrushes, stamps and stationery.
Paula Gorman, Chief, Voluntary Service at the VA Medical Center, said, “We are grateful for Catapult Technology’s generosity and dedication in sponsoring this event. It means a lot when a private company makes it a priority to remember our veterans, especially during the holidays.”
“Sponsoring the lunch for this dedicated group of veterans is our simple way of saying ‘Thank you and happy holidays,’” Slager added.
The men and women in the Trauma Program served in World War II, the Korean War, the Vietnam War, Operation Desert Storm and the current conflict in Iraq and Afghanistan.
