Catapult President Randy Slager

Named Entrepreneur of the Year

Bethesda, Maryland, April 6, 2006 - Randy J. Slager, President and Chief Executive Officer of Catapult Technology, Ltd. has been named the 2006 Entrepreneur of the Year by the Tech Council of Maryland.

The Tech Council, representing more than 600 member companies and 200,000 forward-thinking employees, serves as the preeminent technology think-tank for executives to discuss ideas, innovate and solve technology issues that lead to bigger business. Tech Council members are from biotechnology, advanced technology, government, academia and the service provider industry. The goal of the Tech Council is to create an environment where technology companies meet, learn and collaborate and to be Maryland's best technology networking organization.

Among Maryland's highest technology honors, the Entrepreneur of the Year is one of four annual awards given by the Tech Council. The Tech Awards annually honor the technology companies that stand above the rest and executives who have made outstanding contributions to their companies and their communities. The judging criteria include the ability of the company to show revenue growth and the ability of the company to take the lead on technological advancements that have had a direct impact on their markets.

Slager was recognized as a leader who “stands above the rest, whose drive, acumen and vision positively impacted Catapult business and the community in 2005.” He was praised for his ability to “craft and clearly articulate a vision for Catapult… aptitude at anticipating market trends and capitalizing on them… and his success in raising financial support for his firm.”

“The Council’s Annual Dinner and Tech Awards Celebration is a remarkable opportunity to celebrate the evolution of technology driving Maryland business today,” said Julie Coons, CEO, Tech Council of Maryland. “We recognize those who are pushing technology and business partnerships into new directions.”
