Catapult Technology Receives $43.8 million Contract from Department of State

Bethesda, Maryland, October 18, 2005 - Catapult Technology, Ltd., the top Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Information Technology (IT) contractor to the Federal government, has been awarded a five-year contract by the U.S. Department of State, Bureau of Diplomatic Security to provide comprehensive information technology (IT) services.

The Bureau of Diplomatic Security provides the safe and secure environment critical to the success the country's diplomatic mission in embassies and consulates throughout the world. In the United States, Diplomatic Security investigates passport and visa fraud, conducts personnel security investigations, and protects the Secretary of State and visiting foreign dignitaries and officials. Diplomatic Security is a unique organization in the foreign affairs community, and is the only law enforcement agency with representation in nearly every country in the world.

Diplomatic Security has been at the forefront of confronting new challenges to U.S. national security, including security measures for the U.S. Embassy in Baghdad, training assigned staff to live and work safely in Iraq, and training foreign civilian law enforcement officers to reduce the threat and repercussions of terrorism.

Steve Nagel, Vice President, Security Programs, will be the executive on this contract. Nagel has over 25 years of government contracting and commercial experience, and is the head of Catapult's newest operational division focused on supporting national security programs.

President and Chief Executive Officer, Randy J. Slager, who spent a portion of his Federal career at the FBI, and worked with State on critical security issues expressed pride in Catapult's contribution to the State Department's security mission. Through this performance-based contract, Catapult will provide services that span the full life cycle of IT operations and support, including LAN and systems administration, systems engineering and security support."
