Catapult will provide the large IBM systems support. Catapult teamed with Computer and Hi-Tech Management to win the National Institutes of Health CIO-SP2 and ImageWorld2 re-competitions. OctoberCatapult Wins LMI ContractCatapult was awarded a five year contract with the Logisitics Management Institute to provide LMI's government clients: telecommunications/network design; database analysis, development and administration services; data warehouse and data mining services; and E-Commerce and EDI development support services. SeptemberCatapult receives Small Disadvantaged Business (SDB) CertificationOn September 18, 2000 the Small Business Administration based Catapult's owner's spinal injuries sustained while on active duty in US Army and discrimination that has occurred since that time. Congress recognized that disabled veterans are widely discriminated against in Federal procurement. Often a physical disability is perceived as an indicator of poor performance. Disabled veterans have proven their commitment to our country through their personal sacrifices. There are almost no Service Disabled Veteran (SDV) firms in the Federal sector. Service Disabled Veteran Goals for FY2001 go into effect in October 2000Catapult is a service disabled veteran owned business under Veteran's Entrepreneurship and Small Business Development Act of 1999 unanimously passed by Congress and signed into law (PL 106-50) on August 17, 1999. The Act established a procurement goal of not less than 3% for Federal Agencies and large business subcontracting. Catapult also has its Small Disadvantaged (SDB) and Maryland Minority Business Enterprise (MBE) pending since March 2000. The new Act is designed to reduce the barriers to the disabled veteran entrepreneur and to recognize the stigma of the Viet Nam war is past. Until 1978, the Federal Government had a set-aside program to assist disabled veteran business owners to secure Federal business opportunities. Congress has recognized that service disabled veterans put their lives on the line and sustained injury serving their country. They have earned the right to be able to conduct business with the Government. AugustCatapult Wins Value Added Niche Information Technology Services (VANITS) ContractCatapult won a Value Added Niche Information Technology Services (VANITS) Prime contract that runs through FY2007. Tasks are awarded in 24 to 72 hours and can include hardware, software and services needed to meet the customer's requirements. The customer can quickly select the vendor best suited to meet its needs. Logistic Management Institute (LMI), a respected Federal Research Center, has awarded Catapult a five-year contract to provide technical and consulting expertise for FY2001-2005. JuneCatapult provides ResQPortal, e-business, Internet Access to the National Archives' Centers Information Processing System (CIPS) with the Department of Veterans AffairsThe Department of Veterans Affairs (DVA) - Austin Automation Center and the National Archives and Records Administration have jointly modernized the CIPS with a modern web enabled standard browser capability using software provided by Catapult. The key product is the newly released ResQPortal which transparently creates 3270 to HTML translations. Catapult conducted a proof of concept using the CIS application at the DVA's Austin Automation Center in May which allowed the client to try the system in a live setting eliminating many of the risks associated with adopting a new technology. The system went from the pilot proof of concept to production in record time - six weeks. AprilInterim Federal Acquisition Regulations for Service Disabled Veteran (SDV) FirmsSBA is expected to issue the Interim FAR this Summer to implement the new Veteran's Entrepreneurship and Small Business Development Act of 1999. Catapult is aligning itself with quality large business partners and Agencies committed to the new Federal emphasis on assisting SDV firms develop.
