Brenda Anthony, Liaison Between Prime Contractor and Customer

On Catapult’s Department of Energy (DOE) project, Brenda Anthony is the liaison between prime contractor EES and DOE. (Catapult is the subcontractor.)

“I’ve been on this project since 1998 with past contractors, including Catapult, so I use my background to help EES understand the agency’s expectations,” she says.

Catapult won the Office of Civilian and Radioactive Waste Management (OCRWM) project, based in Las Vegas, NV, in 2005 from a previous contractor. Catapult is currently the subcontractor, managing the agency’s server operations.

“That’s our main service,” says Brenda, whose team also tracks the inventory of physical hardware and maintains and distributes software licenses as part of the contract. The OCRWM team keeps the DOE’s IT operations running smoothly.

Brenda manages ten people on the contract and reports to Dave Lyons, Senior Vice President of Technology Solutions and Chief Information Officer at Catapult. As Project Manager, she handles the financial and human resources elements of the project, which draws on her previous experience. “We’ve had a very good relationship with DOE,” says Brenda. “It’s my job to maintain a high level of customer satisfaction.”

She adds, “Everyone on our team has done a good job in the transition from prime to sub. My team is an absolutely wonderful group of people.”

Becoming a Catapult employee has afforded a lot of room to grow professionally, says Brenda. “Catapult has created a lot of opportunities for its employees,” she adds. “Having the option to go from one project to another is great.”

Brenda adds, “In the few years that I’ve been here, support from Headquarters has improved drastically. The infrastructure has really taken off.”

Brenda lives in Las Vegas with her husband Michael and twin 14-year-old sons, Stephen and Joel, who is autistic. She spends time advocating on behalf of autistic children, lobbying the Las Vegas area school district for better services and getting involved in parent support groups. Brenda says, “New parents with autistic kids don’t understand what they’re entitled to.”

While she likes living in Las Vegas, the heat in the summer can be a bit overbearing. So she travels when she can.

“But my kids are my focus,” she says.
